Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Support
How many times have you heard "we are all different,
and that's okay" except when it comes to sexual
orientation or gender identity? While society has made progress it is still
a frightening world for people who identify as GLBTQ.
Issues can range from struggling with self-acceptance,
fears of rejection by loved ones, body dysphoria or dysmorphia
to being accepted by others in society. Each new interaction or relationship
is difficult for everyone and is much more complicated
for people in the GLBTQ community due to societal beliefs
and perceived norms.
We can offer guidance and hope with
struggles that include:
- Coming Out
- Self-Esteem
- Relationship Issues
- Religious Beliefs
- Family Relationships
- Peer Relationships
- Anxiety and Depression
Elizabeth facilitated the Coming Out Group 2009-2010
The Center has several regular groups that are FREE
including a Coming Out Group, Transgender Group, and
several others.
